I think the T/C is the better choice. i have an older T/C contender with a 7x30 waters barrel and love the round, range, recoil. I had to have the new boy on the block and bought a s/W 460 mag with an 8" barrel and put aware old faithful. Sold it after two months of owning it and brought out old faithfull.Did not like anything about that 460. Now the only other pistol to hold water would the XP-100 or the SAV stryker. in 7-08 or 243.
the only problem is you are stuck, change barrels and Cal,no add a stock and a 14" barrel,no. fast reloading not really. With the T/C break the action tip back slip in close ,cock, shoot, repeat. all three are great and deserve gold medals in my book.

Yeah man I was in a shop the other day, and this saleman (not good salesman) was showing me a 454 casull raging bull nad he was explaining to me how certain loads have matched 30-06 ballistics. and then to really "seal the deal"he told me it was reallly uncomfortable to shoot, actually painful- not fun at all.
So I asked him "why not just get a 30-06 instead of getting carpultunnel syndrome from a box of ammo with that thing?" he said (Seriously this guy was a salesman) he would never buy one, I was right, and if you go bigger than a .44 mag you are just as well carrying a rifle.
He sold me. I guess if a 300 grain .44 mag wont do it, get a rifle. but I dont hunt with my pistol so I don't know what is the best. Just my 2 cents _________________ Why is it when a gun accident happens its the fault of the gun, and ammunition manufacturers and wholesalers, but when a drunk driver kills a family of 4 nobody goes after budweiser? Yeah...My .480 was a hand breaker, and I wasn't pleases at all with the accuracy or the recoil of it. I can take pretty much anything that I'll be hunting with a .44, and I won't have to deal with the recoil pain and accuracy issues of the larger hand cannons. _________________ Everyone has a photographic memory. Dawg, you are alot more man than I am!! I had that Desert eagle .44 and the fact that that gun weighs 5 lb, plus the recoil system took a lot away from the "OWWEEE" effect, but I shot my friends model 629 6" barrel once, and once was enough. I did not like the .44 in a revolver, Goshen, maybe that 9" would take some of the oomph away as well, but I have no intention of trying out a .480 or .500. no thank you.
I am pretty partial to the old Rem. 700 in .308, a nice box of "Brush Busters" and away we go. if that don't take something bigger than a bread box, but smaller than a Suburban down, well... theres always a MK19 600 rpm automatic Grenade launcher. LOL.
Old Grunt, you know which I speak of, or anyone currently enlisted in the armed forces or who has been in the last 8-10 years. that'll get your trousers a'twitchin'!!! _________________ Why is it when a gun accident happens its the fault of the gun, and ammunition manufacturers and wholesalers, but when a drunk driver kills a family of 4 nobody goes after budweiser? I have allways favored the .44 Mag, but not necessarily with full house loads.
Being a reloader I have tailored my ammo, both for accuracy and comfort.
In fact, my .44 mags are a lot like the .45 LC in power and speed.
I have had both carpul tunnels corrected, probably because of all the handgun shooting I used to do. _________________ When it comes to evil, to tolerate is to accommodate, to accommodate is to appease, and to appease is to concede defeat. |

I should also mention that I really like the .357 as well, but I still prefer the .44 for hunting larger game. _________________ Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film. |

Of course therein lies another question... Whatcha huntin?
Out here the infamous southwestern "Cholo" can be eliminated with anything from a .22 to a .44 mag with no problem. _________________ Why is it when a gun accident happens its the fault of the gun, and ammunition manufacturers and wholesalers, but when a drunk driver kills a family of 4 nobody goes after budweiser? Deer mainly, but the .44 can be used for predators and certain varmints as well. _________________ Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film. |

Yes it can.
Feral varmints seem to be increasing also. _________________ When it comes to evil, to tolerate is to accommodate, to accommodate is to appease, and to appease is to concede defeat. |
